"Ahlatlıbel Forest and Environmental Cleaning" in Ankara, in 27.12.2017
To increase the students' sensitivity for the environment and animals, Abdullah Tokur Secondary School organized a trip to Ahlatlıbel in Ankara. Our students had great time in the forest. They helped to keep the environment clean and played games together. They were very eager to protect and help their natural, social environment and the street animals.

We had a kermis in our school for students and parents. We enjoyed a lot. Students and parents danced all day. We had a chance to represent our stuff.

BIRD NESTS AND CAT HAUSE
We created and built bird nests and cat houses with the students. While we were painting the
houses, we had wonderful time with the kids. They were engaged with simple tasks which they
could success. They learned the ways to protect the animals. We want to provide shelter for
birds and cats and feed them.
Our students prepared posters and presented them to their friends to involve recycling campain in our school.

Our plant house for compost method.
We've started to build a plant house for compost method which we will plant in there as soon as possible. we will create 2 gardens inside the plant house: in the one the students will use chemical for plant growing and in the other not - after that we can compare growings, taste and so on...

Conference on recycling activities
In our school, parents and students were given conference on recycling activities, environmental cleaning and hygiene by Altındağ Municipality Cleaning Works Directorate. At the end of the program, education kits were distributed to parents and students. With this conference we aimed to educate the students, parents and local people on importance of recycling."

ITC Mamak Recycling and Storage Site trip in Ankara
We visited ITC Mamak Recycling and Storage Site. Throughout the trip, our students were informed about types of garbage and damages caused by garbage, methane gas, decomposition, recycling, energy production, compost method, greenhouse and growing organic vegetable and fruit by our guide. the students were very impressed with the facility, which meets the electricity needs of 8% of Ankara and the whole Mamak region and provides hot water for the region.
At the end of the trip, our students, who had the opportunity to visit the greenhouse and taste organic tomatoes, became more sensitive and more conscious about recycling and organic agriculture.

“Reuse the waste “
This is our “Reuse the waste “ competition photos. many students recycled their wastes in their own way and created nice works. we chose the winners of the competition. we gave their presents with the ceremony in the school garden.
Adopting a dog
According to our project we were supposed to adopt a street animal. And one day, actually she chose us. J While we were planning to adopt a street animal in need, we found this puppy dog frozen and sick in our school garden on a cold winter day. Now her name is TOPUZ. We have taken care of her and provided a warm home. Her veterinarian Emre Çınar has checked her heath and vaccinated her. TOPUZ, who is now a member of our school, is loved by everyone in the school and local area.
We aim to motivate our students to help, protect and feed the street animals, gain a sense of mercy and the consciousness of protecting and helping them. We motivate our students to participate in the weekly programmes of her care and in this way they will learn how to take care of street animals...

We have started a campaign against nylon shopping bags in our school and our students' poster works..
