ABOUT THE PROJECT:

Earth is a common home for all living organisms. Environmental conservation is greatly influencing factor for protection of earth. Since the environment is very essential in every aspect of life, all the living beings are depended upon the environment. Therefore, all the pros such as survival, reproduction, growth and development etc. of living organisms are done under the environment. Although the environment is very significant factor of all, there are many environmental destructive activities such as depletion of forests, pollution, excessive use of fertilizers, insecticides in fields, climate changing, global warming and etc.

The rationale of this project is the idea that we are obliged to do something to protect and help our natural and social environment and the animals. Since the environment is the only home we have, we believe that we can reverse some of the harm the planet has suffered. The challenge is getting enough people to take drastic enough action so that we can make a difference in our lifetime. We intend to make our students aware that even a small change in our daily activities can save the local environment. And if everybody does something locally it will have a positive global effect. For these reasons one of our project goal is developing educational techniques and contexts that will help pupils to understand where science, and communication skills are used in daily activities regarding their life experience and their future working experience. It means reducing the gap between theoretical training and practical experience.

Because of the pupils lack of abilities to recognize environmental problems which they have been studying in common various phenomenon, insufficient working materials based on scientific observations of phenomenon, overloaded pupils program regarding school preparation that can leads to failure, the lack of deepening in the problem and find solutions to solve it, the low importance of projects and experiments in teaching and evaluation in national level, the lack of teaching resources that involve experiments that lead to the understanding of the problem and so on, we should carry this project out transnationally and have a chance to make a difference in our lifetime.

Our objectives are:

- creating a context for regional and international cooperation regarding environmental teaching for partners involved,

- creating an early link between school training and daily life challenges for the future adult,

- implementing new teaching methods and materials that will encourage trans and inter curricular teaching,

- forming in schools involved special teams of well trained teachers that are promoting innovative methods in didactical process,

- increasing school's European dimension by promoting closer relationships among students, teachers, families and other people related to schools from different countries with different languages and cultures.

With this project our students will have the opportunity to gain knowledge and they will learn the ways to protect the environment and the animals. Through preparing different materials and surveys; planting trees, collecting waste and recycling, activities for saving animals, all the students involved in this project will develop their individual skills, students' love for animal and will feel more self-confident.

During the project each school also deal with a specific environmental problem of their region, which can be resolved by the cooperation of all participant schools. We create international groups of students; each group will cope with one problem, will present its dimensions and its consequences on human life and will propose solutions through cooperation with local institutions. In that way we can implicate local authorities in our efforts and help our schools come to closer relation with society.

Moreover, both the students and the teachers will have the motivation to exercise their skills in using English language which will be the communication language of our program, during visits and doing project activities. Students, teachers, schools stuff, parents, local people, regions and others will take part in this project. So cultural awareness will increase not only among the students, parents and the teachers but also among the local people.

The project will help students improve their ICT skills by using ICT tools for keeping contact with each other (chat programmes, social network sites, email programmes) and for creating the products (ppt, word processing, etc.). Using gadgets like computers, laptops, mobile phones, tablets, digital cameras, even video cameras may be involved during the project.

Group work requires patience, tolerance, cooperation and the ability to make decisions on the basis of consensus. When it all happens in an international environment, it develops language skills as well, not to mention the process of getting to know the other culture more easily.

Another important idea is to implement schools curricula according to every region's specific regarding economic and cultural issues by establishing contacts with all community factors such as economic partners, city hall cultural departments, cultural institutions ( museums, botanical garden, libraries). In this way the project will be a good instrument to increase pupils’ knowledge for all schools involved.
